Try Paddleboarding

If the sun decides to come out why not take advantage of the day off with a Stand Up Paddleboarding (SUP) session. In Wellington, outlets include Ocean Outfitters on Mana Esplanade, Paremata and Ferg’s Kayaks on Queen’s Wharf, Wellington City.
Pack a picnic

Whether it be on the beach, in a park or your backyard, a picnic is the easiest long weekend activity to do with friends or family. Grab a roast chicken, some dip and some fresh bread and you’ve got yourself an alfresco feast.
See a movie
Considering the Oscar hype check out La La Land if you haven’t seen it already. Want something a little newer? Beauty and the Beast is also getting rave reviews.
Take a Hike

Colonial Knob, Porirua.
Virtually every New Zealand town or city is surrounded by beautiful bush. Utilise our lucky country with a hike — or even just a short walk. The Easter long weekend is the ideal time, with favourable weather conditions, not too hot and not too cold. Here’s a pic from atop Colonial Knob’s mountain bike track to get you motivated.
Go to a Gig
When was the last time you saw some live music? Wellington is home to some great live music venues. With something for everyone, check out the Wellington Gig Guide for who’s playing this weekend.
